Our Journey

Built over decades.

From a fabric trading house in 1986 to a vertically integrated garment manufacturer supplying India's largest retail chains.

Timeline

How we got here.

1986

The Beginning

Harkishan Parekh launched the Nissan fabric brand in Ahmedabad, manufacturing premium fashion fabrics for apparel and institutional wear.

1990

Technology Upgrade

Adopted high-end Ruti C weaving technology, significantly improving fabric quality and production capability.

1995

Capacity Expansion

Added 36 Sulzer projectile weaving machines — upgrading to precision weaving technology for a wider product range.

1998

First Exports

Began exporting high-end fabrics to Central Africa and the Middle East — the first international chapter of the Nissan story.

2005

UK Market Entry

Commenced fabric exports to the United Kingdom, establishing Nissan's first footprint in the European market.

2006

Into Garments

Entered apparel manufacturing with an initial setup of 75 machines — focused on high-fashion denim, where our fabric expertise gave us a natural edge.

2009

Garment Exports

Began exporting finished garments to the Middle East — our first step as an international garment supplier.

2012

Scaling Up

Added high-end automation, bringing total stitching capacity to 150 machines and significantly improving throughput and quality consistency.

2019

Full Scale

Expanded to 305 stitching machines across two factories — the second factory commissioned to meet growing domestic demand. Formalised garment processing operations and established Nissan as a major Ahmedabad denim manufacturer.

2023

Technology Refresh

Added Rapier and Airjet weaving technology, expanding the range of fabric constructions and improving production versatility.

2024

Environmental Investment

Acquired land and ZLD common effluent treatment plant membership — laying the foundation for a future in-house washing facility built to the highest environmental standards.

Looking Ahead

Future plans.

We are focused on deepening our export relationships and expanding our international buyer base — bringing the same manufacturing discipline that has served India's leading retailers to global markets.

In parallel, the groundwork for an in-house ZLD-compliant washing facility has been laid — a deliberate investment that will give us full vertical control over the most fashion-critical part of our production process.
